It’s something people occasionally ask us.
You open a new bottle of capsules and notice they look slightly different to the last one. Maybe they’re a bit darker. Maybe more green. Maybe a little lighter than you remember.
The first thought is often, “Has something changed?”
The short answer is no. And there’s usually a very simple explanation.
Many of our supplements contain plant-based ingredients - herbs, seaweeds, botanical extracts and naturally derived nutrients. Unlike synthetic materials, plants don’t grow in identical conditions all year round. They’re affected by the season, the amount of sunlight they receive, soil quality, rainfall and harvest timing.
That means the natural colour of a plant can vary slightly from one harvest to the next. A green botanical might be a softer olive shade one season and a deeper green the next. A brown extract might look more beige in one batch and richer in another.
When those ingredients are blended together, even small natural shifts can slightly change the overall appearance of the finished product.
You may notice it more in clear capsules, where you can see the powder inside. Nothing about the formula has changed - you’re simply seeing nature at work.
It’s also worth saying what a colour difference doesn’t mean. It doesn’t mean the product is weaker. It doesn’t mean ingredients have been swapped. It doesn’t mean it’s unsafe or faulty.
Every batch we produce is made to the same formulation and tested to ensure it meets strict quality and safety standards before it ever reaches you.
We’d much rather work with real, natural ingredients that may vary slightly in shade than artificially standardise everything for appearance alone. A small colour difference is simply part of using plant-based materials.
If you ever feel unsure about a product, our team is always happy to help. But in most cases, a change in colour is just nature doing what nature does.
