There is a very rare oil from a tree called the Argania grown only in Morocco that is an effective conditioner. Sadly, the tree is endangered and now under the protection of UNESCO and therefore the Argan oil is very expensive and hard to obtain.
However, there are equally effective and more affordable natural solutions for conditioning and shine and generally they contain a combination of chamomile, shea bitter and Jojoba oil, sometimes in combination with other natural ingredients.
Jojoba oil is extracted from seeds of the jojoba plant which is indigenous to southern United States and northern Mexico. Pure Jojoba oil has a bright, golden colour whereas processed jojoba oil is clear and transparent. It can be stored for long periods and is therefore excellent value for money. Nowadays the bulk of Jojoba is grown for export in Israel and Argentina and approximately 95% of all the Jojoba grown for oil is used in personal and health care products.
